Because of Marvel, Elizabeth Olsen had to give up a lot of essential roles.

In the Marvel universe, Elizabeth Olsen is well-known for playing Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch. In 2014, she appeared in the scene after Captain America: The Winter Soldier credits, which was her first movie role. And in Avengers: Age of Ultron, as the Antognist, she made her real movie debut. She then appeared in most MCU movies, like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. She even got her show, WandaVision, on Disney+.

Elizabeth Olsen talked about the roles she couldn’t take because she had a contract with Marvel Studios. One was for the lead role in The Lobster, a film by Yorgos Lanthimos that also starred Colin Farrell, Rachel Weisz, and Olivia Colman.

Since she has been playing Wanda Maximoff for more than five years, the actress hasn’t been able to be in any Oscar-winning movies. She even said that she feels “trapped” because of her contract with Marvel.

“I started to get frustrated,” Olsen said. “I had a secure job but was losing parts of myself that I felt were more important. And the farther I got from that, the less they thought of me for it.”

The actress said that The Lobster’s death was unfortunate.
“Marvel took away my physical ability to do some jobs that I thought were more in line with what I liked as a viewer. And this is just me being as honest as I can,” she said.
